  The Heart of the Universe

 The Birth of Eve

eve

Eve was created from Adam’s rib,
which also can mean in Hebrew, SHADOW.
How a man views the opposite sex
is a shadow of his own self-esteem.

Eve and the Serpent

evetree

The confrontation of Eve and the Serpent is one
of the most mysterious "stories" of the Bible
and is the subject of many deep studies.
The serpent is connected to the Messiah,
who will rectify this mundane world,
called by the Kabbalah,
the "Skin of the Serpent", releasing
all of the holy sparks and trapped energies.

Jacob Wrestling With Angel

eve

When Jacob crossed the Yabok River,
he encountered the Angel of Esau,
with whom he wrestled the entire night
of the symbolic Galut and mundane consciousness.
At the redeeming “dawn” the Angel conceded
the battle and from then on
Jacob was called Israel
(which means in Hebrew, Direct to G-d)
the reaching of highest spiritual connection.

The Finger of G-d

finger

When the plague of lice occurred in Egypt
all of the magicians understood
that it was the “Finger of G-d”

such small creatures, whereas
Divine Providence is in every aspect of creation.

Crossing the Red Sea

red sea

The biblical story of the crossing of the Red Sea
is explained by the Rabbis to be a prophetic
revelation achieved by the entire Israel nation.
The sea, which is the hidden domain, suddenly
became a solid or revealed dimension
without the accompanying contractions and
filtering that this process usually demands.

The Child is the Father of the Man

child is the father

Inspired by the famous phrase from Wordsworth
and a very appropriate description
of the fractal process itself.
Within the painting one may see a profile
of the artist as a tree.
Branching out of his heart
is a new born baby.

The Tomb of a Kabbalah Master

tomb of ari

A vision of the tomb of the renowned
teacher of Kabbalah,
Rabbi Yitzchak Luria,
the Ari Hakodesh,
during an annual pilgrimage.

Here the smoke from the hundreds of candles
and the protective tents merges

with the prayers of the visitors
in the ancient cemetery in Safed Israel.
